ShareShow Privacy Policy
Last Updated: October 10, 2025
ShareShow (the “Service”) is a multi-platform application that brings together live TV channels and film or TV
discovery experiences. This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) explains how the ShareShow development team (“we,” “us,”
or “our”) collects, uses, and protects information about individuals who access or use the Service (“Users”). We
respect User privacy and handle personal information in accordance with applicable laws.
1. Overview
We collect personal information only for specified purposes, use it within the scope necessary to achieve those
purposes, and implement reasonable safeguards to protect the information we hold.
2. Information We Collect
Depending on how you interact with the Service, we may collect the following categories of information:
- Account Identifiers: Firebase Authentication user IDs, anonymous identifiers, and
identifiers provided by linked Google or Apple accounts.
- Profile Details: Display name, display ID, avatar image, self-introduction, preferred
language and region settings, and the list of muted User IDs.
- Viewing and Engagement Data: Favorites, search keywords, ranking or catalog views, episode
comments (including text, playback timestamps, and created timestamps), and hotness metrics derived from
comments.
- TV Channel Preferences: Selected country or area, comment room activity, and mute settings
for specific Users.
- Authentication and Usage Logs: Device type, operating system version, app version,
notification tokens, locale, Remote Config results, and timestamps of sign-in events.

data, and cookies or similar technologies where applicable.
- Support Information: Email addresses, inquiry details, and other contact information
submitted when Users request support.
3. How We Collect Information
- Information that Users submit directly, such as during account creation, profile updates, favorites
management, or comment posting.
- Information automatically captured by the client applications or backend systems when Users interact with
the Service.
- Information provided via email or other channels when Users contact us for support.
4. How We Use Information
We use collected information for the following purposes:
- Providing, operating, maintaining, and improving the Service
- Authenticating Users, managing accounts, and supporting provider linking
- Delivering core features such as live channel comments, rankings, catalog search, episode timelines,
favorites, and mute controls
- Executing maintenance notices, forced or recommended updates, and push notifications via Remote Config and
Cloud Messaging
- Analyzing logs and metrics to enhance performance, reliability, and user experience
- Detecting, investigating, and preventing fraud, abuse, and violations of our Terms
- Responding to inquiries and providing customer support
5. Firebase and Backend Services
The Service relies on several Firebase components and related backend systems:
- Firebase Authentication: Supports anonymous sign-in, Google Sign-In, and Sign in with
Apple.
- Cloud Firestore: Stores user profiles, comments, rankings, favorites, mute lists, and
TMDB-sourced metadata.
- Cloud Functions: Executes comment moderation (NG word checks, cooldowns, posting caps),
TMDB synchronization tasks, ranking updates, and other backend workflows.
- Cloud Storage: Hosts media assets such as profile photos.
- Remote Config: Controls maintenance mode, forced updates, and feature flags.
- Cloud Messaging: Manages notification tokens and enables push notification delivery
(including future releases).
For more information about how Firebase processes data, please review Google’s Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy.
6. Third-Party Integrations
- TMDB API: We fetch content metadata, artwork, and rankings from TMDB. We do not transmit
personal information to TMDB, and the Service is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.
- Algolia: Search queries and filter parameters may be sent to Algolia to provide fast
catalog search. These requests can include the User’s selected filters and search terms.
- Authentication Providers: When linking Google or Apple accounts, certain information (such
as email addresses or public profile data) may be shared with those providers according to their terms and
privacy policies.
7. Sharing of Information
We do not sell personal information. We may share information only in the following situations:
- With the User’s consent
- When required by law, regulation, or legal process
- When necessary to protect the vital interests of an individual, and obtaining consent is difficult
- When necessary for the public interest or for cooperating with legal authorities, and obtaining consent
could impede those efforts
- With vendors or service providers that assist us in operating the Service, subject to appropriate
contractual safeguards
8. Data Security
We implement administrative, technical, and physical safeguards—such as access controls, encryption, and
logging—to protect information under our control. Nevertheless, we cannot guarantee absolute security for
information transmitted over the internet or stored electronically.
9. Data Retention
- We retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy or
as required by law.
- When Users request account deletion, we will delete or anonymize associated data within a reasonable period,
except where retention is mandated by law or is necessary to protect our rights.
10. User Rights
Subject to applicable law, Users may request access to, correction of, deletion of, or restriction of processing
for their personal information. Users may also object to certain processing or request data portability. To
exercise these rights, please contact us using the information in Section 14.
11. Children’s Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information
from children. If we become aware that a child has provided personal information without parental consent, we
will take steps to delete such data.
12. International Data Transfers
Firebase infrastructure and other service providers may process data on servers located outside the User’s
country of residence, including in the United States. By using the Service, Users consent to the transfer of
their information to countries that may have different data protection laws.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. When material changes occur, we will notify Users through the
Service or via other reasonable means. Continued use of the Service after the updated Policy becomes effective
constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
